FAQS
What is accommodation like?
Accommodation during the DTS is in community. Men and Women have separate rooms. Beds are provided as well as some storage space for your things.
Where is outreach?
We prayerfully consider where to go for outreach to a focused location.
How are meals provided?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are covered in the DTS fees. Meals outside of these times, snacks and other dietary needs, may not be included.
Can I cook my own meals?
Due to limited kitchen facilities, students may occasionally have access to the kitchen to prepare special meals for birthdays, holidays, etc. Probably not on a daily basis.
What does the average schedule look like?
During the DTS our mornings start with worship and prayer. We have lectures on various DTS topics for the rest of the morning with a break in-between. In the afternoon you will be doing different activities including small groups, one-on-ones, outreach in Melbourne, ministry placements, and much more.
Are my weekends free?
Weekends are generally free. During the DTS we want you to have time to explore Melbourne and the surrounding areas. Sometimes we may be committed to help in a ministry on the weekends, or have something else planned. You will be made aware beforehand. We also encourage students to engage in a church while they are here with us in Melbourne.
What does Christmas and Easter look like at YWAM Life Melbourne?
We love to do big celebrations for Christmas and Easter! We celebrate with a lot of food, games, and fellowship! Everyone comes together to celebrate and have the best time! Knowing that many students are away from friends and family, we make sure that no one misses out on celebrating.
Can friends and family visit me on DTS?
Yes, friends and family are welcome! They may be able to stay with us, just check with our hospitality team.
Can I bring my family/spouse on DTS with me?
Absolutely! We love having families that want to do missions together!
Can I bring Pets to DTS?
No, our community doesn’t have the facilities to accommodate pets.
Can I work while doing DTS?
The DTS is a short time in life to focus on all that God has for you. The schedule is quite full as you develop a lifestyle of ministry.
